NEI Panel Discussion: Canada's SMR Action Plan

Canada's Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Action Plan, released in December 2020, is Canada's plan for the development, demonstration and deployment of SMRs for multiple applications at home and abroad. The Plan is the result of a pan-Canadian effort bringing together key enablers from across Canada: the federal government, provinces and territories, Indigenous Peoples and communities, power utilities, industry, innovators, laboratories, academia, and civil society. This panel explored how Canada and its nuclear industry will use SMR technologies to contribute to safe, clean, affordable energy as a response to climate change and to enable prosperity and quality of life both in Canada and as a global partner.
