Supplier participants

Through COG's Supplier Participant Program (SPP), suppliers have collaboratively developed an internationally-recognized approach to achieve an increasingly strong safety and quality culture.

COG's SPP provides CANDU suppliers with opportunities for information exchange, training and interaction between operators and suppliers.

Program participants

COG has three program participants: The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) and Hydro Québec who participate within specific program areas, further strengthening the connections to organizations within the CANDU industry.

SMR Vendor Participants

COG's Small Modular Reactor Vendor Participant Program (SMR VPP) addresses common challenges of SMR deployment and assists vendors to understand operator challenges in Canada and internationally. It also ensures a strong network supporting future infrastructure needs for SMRs.

Forums, peer groups & committees

COG is an organization whose success is built on member participation in forums, peer groups, and technical committees to achieve exponential results from what they could achieve, alone. Annually, COG hosts more than 150 forums, peer groups, technical committee meetings, conferences and workshops on topics ranging from operations and maintenance to safety, human performance and emergency planning. The forums, peer groups and committees provide direction and oversight to numerous working groups and task teams that investigate specific areas and issues. This collaborative work strengthens CANDU technology and enables members, participants and industry partners to look beyond CANDU to new technologies and opportunities.

COG Partners

COG's many partner organizations, in Canada and worldwide, allow it to leverage the expertise and efforts of other important nuclear resources. In Canada, these include organizations such as the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA), Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS), University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE) and Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI). COG partners with leading international industry organizations such as the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) as well as international governmental organizations, notably the practical arrangement with two divisions in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Nuclear Safety and Nuclear Energy. In 2020, COG partnered with the OECD -- Nuclear Energy Agency and works with the Nuclear Energy Institute on advancing SMRs and innovation through advanced manufacturing.

Strong partnerships with other industry organizations in Canada and internationally make COG a highly-effective portal and lever to get the most from these resources to benefit COG members, participants and the broader nuclear industry.
