Through COG's Supplier Participant Program (SPP), suppliers have collaboratively developed an internationally-recognized approach to achieve an increasingly strong safety and quality culture.
COG's SPP provides CANDU suppliers with opportunities for information exchange, training and interaction between operators and suppliers.
The SPP's objectives include:
-
Share supplier perspectives, operating experience (OPEX) and lessons learned
-
Identify, communicate and resolve common challenges in execution of services for customers
-
Obtain an understanding from customers of the top issues suppliers should address
-
Engage with customers and remove impediments for the benefit of the nuclear industry
The SPP also provides an opportunity for shared programs that strengthen and secure the entire CANDU supply chain. This is accomplished through collaboration in developing best practices and shared experience for preventing and identifying counterfeit parts and other supply chain management activities.
The program has helped the industry manage a transition to increased partnership and leadership by supply organizations in nuclear projects and operations. Through the SPP, supplier participants have developed training, OPEX and information exchange mechanisms similar to those nuclear operators have relied on for decades.
